Parameter Group Parameters Edit MQGC

This screen, which is entered from the screen Parameter Group - Amend MQGB, is used for defining parameters in a Parameter Group. The name (identifier), data class, and description are entered on this screen. You can also optionally associate a prompt program with any parameter.

There are three formats; the first contains parameter names and descriptions, the second displays the data class and associated prompt program (if any). The third format displays the Group's creation date, and the date, time and user ID for the last update to the Group definition. (There is no illustration of the third format.)

Each parameter defined on this screen must have an identifier (name), description, and class. The description is used as a prompt message at run time, when a mapping which uses the group is submitted for execution.

If a prompt program is associated with a parameter on the second format, then a user making a submission has the option of picking an entry from a list displayed by the prompt program, instead of typing in a value for the parameter.
