This option lets you transfer transactions from one supplier to another. You can transfer individual transactions or all transactions for a supplier.
Transfer transactions when documents are entered for the wrong supplier or if a supplier buys another supplier. After the transactions are transferred, they are inactive to the original supplier account and active to the new supplier's account.
The system adjusts both the original supplier's balance and activity and the new supplier's balance and activity.
The system subtracts the transferred transaction(s) from the supplier's balance and reverses the General Ledger postings.
The system reverses General Ledger postings on the original supplier and posts to the new supplier's account if the Accounts Payable liability on the supplier to which you are transferring is different from the Accounts Payable liability on which the invoice was originally posted.
The transfer process creates two batches. One batch contains the transactions transferred to the new supplier and the other batch contains transfer transactions for the old supplier. The system generates and attaches a new system reference number to each transferred transaction.
This process balances the effect of the transferred transactions by allocating them fully and providing an audit record.
You cannot transfer transactions that are logged, cancelled, matched to an order, service related or locked.
You can transfer transactions if:
When transferring transactions that have retentions, the retention amounts are maintained with the transactions. This ensures that the system does not release an invoice for payment that has a retention. You can cancel the retention using the Suspend/Release option.
When you click the Transfer button on the Transaction Transfers Confirm screen MGDP, the system assigns new system reference numbers to the transactions that you are transferring. The new system reference numbers are used for the supplier to which you are transferring transactions.
When you transfer a document, the document assumes the default payment address of the supplier to which they are transferred.
If you transfer a transaction from a supplier using payment analysis to a supplier not using payment analysis, the system displays a warning message.
