Examples of the information include whether you are using a European or American date format, the maximum number of users allowed and the number of days allocated to users for temporary memory.
System Modules Tab
This tab provides a systems administration function to support the system
being the source of updates to external systems, such as exporting data.
A business example of where this function could be used, is where the application
is being used as the master Customer database record and there is a need
for near real time integration with other systems that need to know about
changes to that master customer record.
Administrators can define that a collection of fields, such as names, address
lines, post-code are to be “published” for potential external consumption
as an XML “packet” of data, when any updates were made. This can be controlled
on a function basis, that is inserts, amends, deletes, etc. When changes
are made in ,
the system will output that data, to a defined distribution source. Where
a customer has in place an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solution, “subscribing”
applications could pick up that data and process it.
The Web Service Export control flag indicates that the web service export
function is in use and mandates the input of the service name. The user
can prompt on the name field to go to the new web services list (MAMZ)
and return a service that must be defined as of type “export”, or “both”.
If not described elsewhere in this topic, click in the field and press F1 to view a description. See Common Fields for more information.
Fast prompt allows you to quickly view a list of options for certain fields.
See Using the Command Line on opening the screen without going through the menu.
