Cash Receipting - Setting Up

Cashiers

An organisation will define users of the Cash Receipting functionality as Cashiers. Cashier Controls will hold details of the float as well as the cash in/out of the float per cashier session.

To activate a cashier session, a cashier will be required to log into e5 and then access the receipt data entry option. The act of accessing the data entry option will trigger a session log-on entry to be recorded against that cashiers ID on the Cashiers Controls (thus the cashiers session has been activated).  Likewise, exiting a new screen, the System Reference List, will trigger a session log-off entry on the Cashiers Controls table.  The system will, on the closing of a cashiers session, calculate the cash in, cash out and closing float values. The cashier controls provide the ability to see the Cashier float and session management details on the one screen for ease of viewing.

A default float value is specified against the cashier. The default float value will be used by the system to calculate the opening float value for each cashier session. The Cashier is expected to start each new cashier session with a physical float value equal to the defined default float value. (this will then allow audit control to be maintained over how much the system believes the cashier should have in their float at the end of the session compared to the physical amount of cash and cheques / money orders they do have).

NOTE Range list security is available to limit users to a defined range of Cashiers within the Cash Receipting module. The user would simply create a Range List for the cash receipting module (M), defining the Cashiers within the range. This would be added to an access code and linked to the user company level security options.

NOTE The menu path shown is the default for the system. Your company may have customised menu options, so the path shown may not be accurate. Please contact your system administrator for details.
