System Preferences

  1. Click Tools / Help Menu, Preferences.
  2. Click OK to save any settings or Cancel to return to the previous active screen.

TIP Preference settings are saved per user and will be automatically applied the next time you log onto a new pc or device.

Reset

Note Use of this button is controlled by your System Administrator, and may not be available.

You can reset all of your preferences by clicking Reset.

You will need to close all programs before starting, and it will log you out of the system while the reset is being done.

CAUTION This will delete all preferences on your account to the system default.

Basic Tab

Description

Show Grid

You can elect to switch on or off the Grid shown on list boxes by clicking the Grid control. Grids are useful in guiding your eyes to all data related to a row.

Auto Complete

Click to set auto field completion based on characters being entered.

Auto complete stores data keyed on map, variant, component and Windows user and uses this to present you with a drop down selection list of previously entered data. For example, if you enter 'Telephone' in the Invoice description field of AP data entry, then the next time you go to that field and enter a 'T', Telephone will appear in the drop down list for you to select.

Menu Above Sessions

Where the browser width is greater than 1300 the session bars can be positioned below the menu if required using this flag.

Keep Full Menu Left Aligned

Tick this to stop the menu from automatically shifting to the right. This means that when you open nested menus, you may have to use the scroll bar to view all options.

Hide Session Close Confirmation

Do not show the confirmation dialog. the tab will close without warning.

Display Quick Links

Display the Quick Links option.

Auto Tabbing

Set as required. Use Auto tab to advance to the next field on the screen when you fill the field prior to it. Remember that field order is always left to right, top to bottom.

Right Align Numeric Fields

Display field level help as pop up

Shows the help as a pop up rather than a tab.

Decimal Symbols

Locale Only

Tick to use default locale symbols.

User Choice

Use to enable user choice options detailed below.

Decimal Separator

Set the decimal separator symbol required.

Grouping (Thousands) Separator

Set the grouping indicator symbol required.

Browser Home

Define the home page to be displayed when accessing the system.

NOTE Some websites, such as MSN and Google, cannot be opened from within another website like e5H5 due to security features within the target website.

Description

External Browser

If URL menus on the hierarchy exist then ticking this box will launch the URL in a new tab. If it is not ticked then it will be opened in the embedded browser within the application.
